  • Late breakfast at the retreat

  • Browse boutique shops, gift stores and local galleries

  • Pick up essentials at the Four Square supermarket

Lunch

  • Café lunch in town
    Popular stops include relaxed cafés and bakeries serving excellent coffee, cabinet food and light meals

Afternoon

  • Visit local art studios or the weekly Growers & Artisans Market (seasonal)

  • Optional stop at the wharf or waterfront for sea views and a gentle stroll

Return

  • Return to the retreat for rest, prayer, or quiet reflection

  • Dinner at the retreat

Transport to and from Coromandel Town can be arranged.


2. Nature, Bush Walks & Scenic Beauty

For guests who feel restored by nature, fresh air and gentle movement.

Morning

  • Breakfast at the retreat

  • Short drive to a nearby bush walk or coastal trail

    • Options include kauri walks, coastal paths or easy tramping tracks

    • Walks can be tailored to energy levels and mobility

Midday

  • Picnic lunch or café stop

  • Time for sitting, journalling, prayer or simply enjoying the surroundings

Afternoon

  • Optional scenic drive via the 309 Road, known for waterfalls, kauri trees and beautiful forest

  • Gentle return to the retreat for rest

Evening

  • Home-cooked dinner and a quiet evening

  • Visit to The Waterworks — a quirky and fun outdoor attraction enjoyed by adults and groups

  • Alternatively, visit a dive and fishing shop in town to explore local marine life, fishing gear and coastal activities

Return

  • Late afternoon return to the retreat

  • Relaxed evening meal and optional prayer or reflection time
